WHAT IS A

VALIDATION SURVEY

The goal of the Validation Survey is to measure and analyze the RF characteristics of the existing WLAN infrastructure once installed. The WLAN controller is reviewed to verify proper configuration and best practices. We ensure that the appropriate evaluations are performed and that all site physical environmental elements are considered through the on-site RF Validation process, as well as:
Survey new AP locations or recommend AP relocation if the current AP locations do not meet required WLAN standards.
The collection of pictures showing all AP locations, existing and proposed.
Spectrum Analysis capturing data used to evaluate general RF properties and usage in both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands.

HOW IS A VALIDATION SURVEY DELIVERED

The following items are delivered with our Validation Surveys:

Graphical illustrations reflecting WLAN design and access point placements using updated CAD drawings and/or site layout images.

Heat map images demonstrating RF signal properties captured during on-site testing as well as those generated using AirMagnet Survey PRO.

Overview of spectrum analysis results.

Controller configuration recommendations based on best practices and/or site specific modifications.

Summary of as-designed WLAN hardware and mounting solutions.
